Class Management offers a variety of functions that allow you to maintain an organized roster year over year. How you manage your class(es) will depend on how you log into Prodigy.
Keep reading to learn how to:
- Add a new class
- Change the name or grade level of a class
- Archive or delete a class
- Add a new student to an existing class
- Move students between classes, and
- Remove a student from a class
Adding Classes
Adding new classes is easy! How you do so depends on how you log into Prodigy. Select the appropriate drop-down below.
1. Log in to your Prodigy Teacher Account. If you need help with this, more information can be found in this article.
2. Select Manage Classes, with the gear icon, at the bottom left of your screen:
3. Select the Create a new class button:
4. Select Import from Google Classroom:
5. A Google prompt will appear to confirm which account you are importing your class from and that you are allowing access to the information needed.
6. Once you have confirmed your account and allowed access, a list of the classes in your Google Classroom account will display.
Check off the box for the class(es) that you would like to import, and click Continue:
7. Assign a grade to each class you have selected, or remove them if you had chosen a class in error. Then, click Import x Classroom(s).
That's it! Students from your Google Classroom are now ready to play Prodigy by logging in with their Google accounts, and you can keep track of their progress from your Teacher Account on Prodigy.

2. Select Manage Classes, with the gear icon, at the bottom left of your screen:
3. Select the Create a new class button:
4. Select the Import from Clever button:
5. View a list of your Clever classrooms and select which ones you would like to update. When you’re finished, click Confirm:
6. You'll be asked to confirm your selections. Then select Sync x Classrooms:
7. Your new students have been added to your class! Going forward, they should select Clever to log into Prodigy.

2. Select Manage Classes, with the gear icon, at the bottom left of your screen:
3. Select the Create a new class button:
4. Under "Create a new class from scratch", enter a class name and select a grade for your class. Then, select Create class:
5. You'll next be provided with a Class Code and the option to create new accounts for your students. If your students have pre-existing Prodigy accounts, they can join your class using your Class Code! Select View class code instructions or find out more about Class Codes here.
If your students need new accounts, select the Create new accounts button and keep reading:
6. Enter the names of your student(s), being careful to format them as specified. Then, select Continue to review:
7. You'll have the option to review your list of names before creating new accounts. Check that names are formatted correctly, delete any unnecessary names, or press Back to update your list. When you're finished, select Create student accounts.
8. Your students have been added to your class! Select the View login details button to retrieve your students' usernames and passwords so they can jump into Prodigy!
Changing a Class Name or Grade
If you made a mistake when creating your class, or if you use the same class year-over-year, you can change the name and grade level of your class from your Manage Classes page. Select the appropriate drop-down below.

2. Select Manage Classes, with the gear icon, at the bottom left of your screen:
3. Locate the classroom you'd like to change the name or grade level of. If you have more than one active class, scroll down to view additional classes.
4. Select the Actions menu of your class, then select Edit class name and grade:
5. Enter a new Class name, Grade (or both), then select Save:
6. Your class has been updated!

3. Locate the classroom you'd like to change the name or grade level of. If you have more than one active class, scroll down to view additional classes.
4. Select the Actions menu of your class, then select Edit class name and grade:
5. Enter a new Class name, Grade (or both), then select Save:
6. Your class has been updated!
Archiving or Deleting Classes
Archiving or deleting old classes are a great way to keep your dashboard up-to-date and easy-to-navigate. Archiving a class will leave your class roster and reports intact, but will hide the class from your active class menu. Deleting a class is permanent, and will remove the class, and all linked students, from your account. Please note that while deleting a class will remove the students from your account, it will not delete their accounts entirely. Select the appropriate drop-down below.

3. Locate the classroom you'd like to change the name or grade level of. If you have more than one active class, scroll down to view additional classes.
4. Select the Actions menu of your class, then select Archive class or Delete class:
5. Your class has been archived or deleted! If you need to view an archived class later, select this school year near the top of your Manage Classes page and switch to in your archive:

Adding a New Student to an Existing Class
How a new student joins your existing class depends on how your class was created and whether your student has a Prodigy account or needs a new one. Select the appropriate drop-down below.

Moving Students Between Classes
If you would like to move a student between one Prodigy class and another, you can do through your Manage Classes page. Select the appropriate drop-down below.

2. Select Manage Classes, with the gear icon, at the bottom left of your screen:
3. Locate the classroom you will be moving students from. If you have more than one active class, scroll down to view additional classes. Select the Show student roster drop-down to display all students within the class:
4. Within your student roster, locate the student(s) you'd like to move and select the checkboxes next to their name(s). When you're finished, select the Move button:
5. You'll be presented with the ability to select which class you'd like your student(s) moved to. After you've done so, select the confirmation button to Move x students.
6. Your students have been removed from their original class and added to their new one!

Removing Students from a Class
Individual student accounts may need to be removed from your class from time-to-time, like if they've changed teachers. How you remove students from your class will depend on how your class was created. Select the appropriate drop-down below.

3. Locate the classroom you would like to remove a student from. If you have more than one active class, scroll down to view additional classes. Select the Show student roster drop-down to display all students within the class:
4. Within your student roster, locate the student(s) you'd like to remove and select the checkboxes next to their name(s). When you're finished, select the Remove button:
5. You'll be presented with a warning before any students are removed. When you're sure you'd like to proceed, select the Remove x students button.
6. Your students have been removed from your class!
