Prodigy is pleased to provide support as a Google Classroom Add-on. This can be installed from the Google Workspace Marketplace for schools and districts subscribed to Google's Education Plus plan or Google's Teaching & Learning Upgrade.

Getting Started with Prodigy in Google Classroom

If you're a new Teacher to Prodigy:

When creating an assignment through Prodigy's Google Classroom Add-on for the first time, you'll be prompted to sign into Prodigy using your Google SSO. Simply follow the on-screen prompts to create your Prodigy account and connect it to Google. When asked "Do you have a Prodigy account?", be sure to select "I want a new account".

You'll next be guided through a few onboarding steps where you'll be prompted to import your Google Classroom roster and create accounts for your students. Once returning to Google Classroom, you'll be ready to start creating assignments!

If you already have a Prodigy Teacher Account:

When creating an assignment through Prodigy's Google Classroom Add-on for the first time, you'll be prompted to sign into Prodigy using your Google SSO.  Simply follow the on-screen prompts to connect your existing Prodigy account to Google. When asked "Do you have a Prodigy account?", be sure to select "I have a Prodigy account".

You'll next be prompted to import your Google Classroom, if you haven't already. Once returning to Google Classroom, you'll be ready to start creating assignments!

How do I create Prodigy assignments in Google Classroom?
  1. Navigate to the Classwork tab of your Google Classroom, select the + Create button, and choose Assignment
  2. Within the Assignment creation interface, select Prodigy from the list of Add-ons
  3. Select whether you'd like to create a Math or English assignment for your students
  4. You'll be prompted to choose skills from a searchable list, select students, set question quantity, adjust dates, and title your assignment. Once you're finished, click Continue

  5. After receiving confirmation of your Prodigy assignment being created, continue adjusting Google Classroom assignment settings, as needed, from the right side of your screen
  6. Finally, click Assign and watch as your students seamlessly receive your assigned questions in Prodigy!
How do my students access Prodigy assignments through Google Classroom?
Have your students navigate to the Classwork tab within Google Classroom, then have them select your Prodigy assignment. Upon doing so, a new window will launch Prodigy and automatically log your students in. Assignment questions are seamlessly provided to students as they encounter questions in-game.

How can I edit my Prodigy assignment through Google Classroom?
To edit your Prodigy assignment through Google Classroom, simply select the assignment from your Classwork tab then click the Edit button. You'll be able to change skills, students, question quantity, dates, and the title of your assignment.
How do I view Prodigy assignment results?
To view the results of your assignment, navigate to your Teacher Dashboard on Prodigy's website. Select the option to log in via Google SSO, then select Assessments from the left-side menu. Here, you'll be able to review the results of any assignments you've created for your students.
Why isn't Prodigy showing up in my list of Google Classroom Add-ons?
If you aren't able to see Prodigy in your list of available Add-ons, Prodigy may not yet be enabled by your District Administrator. My students aren't receiving my assignment - why?
If any students aren't receiving the assignment questions you've created, first select the assignment from your Classwork tab, then click the Edit button. Confirm that the affected student(s) are included in the assignment. For additional troubleshooting ideas, please see the following article: Why aren't my students receiving my assignment?
My student's game data is gone and they have to start over - what happened?
It sounds like your student typically plays Prodigy on an account not associated with your Google Classroom.  For assistance, please contact our Customer Support team!
