Here's what we've been working on at Prodigy...
We have some exciting updates to tell you about this week including the introduction of multiple classes support and an announcement that a new mobile version of the game supporting iPhone/iPod play is coming soon!
Teachers and parents can now create multiple classes to support students of differing grade levels. So, if you're a rotary teacher handling multiple classes every day or just a parent that wants to create plans for your children at different grade levels you now have that option!
Upon login, you'll be greeted with a brief tutorial walking you through some of the new features as well as the option to create a new class which is as easy as 1-2-3!
Select the "+" symbol, give your class a name, pick a grade and create!
Multiple classes support a unique grade level for each and you can have as many classes as you like. This makes the process of creating plans and assignments, viewing reports, and managing students much easier!
Each class comes with its own unique class code so you can continue to use that method to have your students register with your class!
Mobile supporting iPhone/iPod
Technology is always changing and so are we! Previously we offered our app only for iPad users but that will soon change! If you're on an iPhone 4s or higher you will soon be able to download and play Prodigy on your phone!
Featuring a brand new question interface, this new version is designed to fit in the palm of your hands!
This new mobile version currently supports about 75% of our existing content in a new mobile friendly format with performance improvements and more content coverage to be added over time!
As soon as it's released we'll be sure to inform all of our users so you can head over to the app store and check it out and play Prodigy on the go!
Changes to Reports
Along with each class having it's own reports, we've also made some changes to our reports with some exciting new additions!
Currently 3 reports are available:
Weekly Activity: Get a report of questions answered this week with a historical view. You can now go back week to week and view this report for previous weeks!
Curriculum Coverage: Registered users will be familiar with this as our "Curriculum" report. It has been re-structured to make it easier to see what your students have worked on by curriculum expectation.
Topic Coverage: Registered users will be familiar with this as our "Topic Overview" report.
Student Progress: This report is temporarily disabled while we make improvements to it. Coming soon!
New Login Screen
We've introduced a new streamlined login screen to emphasize the important elements. All of our buttons are more clearly labelled for ease of use and a convenient link to our homepage is in the top right of the page to help our mobile users get to the site quickly! Let us know what you think!
Parent/Guardian Email Prompt
At Prodigy, we know how important it is to have parents/guardians involved with their children's education and we also want to make sure they're informed about their children's use of the game. With that in mind, starting today we will be asking all students to input their parent/guardian's emails, we'll even give them a reward of 500 gold for doing it!
The reason for doing this is two-fold:
1. We want to make sure parents and guardians are informed! It's very important that parents/guardians know their child is using the game and make an informed decision about its use. This allows us to do that.
2. This gives parents/guardians the opportunity to register and track their child's progress through our free parent accounts! With an account parents/guardians can view reports, create assignments, change passwords and more! An engaged parent/guardian can make all the difference in a child's education and we want to help facilitate that.
That's it for now!
We sure hope you like the changes that we've made! As always our team is hard at work to make Prodigy more exciting and engaging all the time.
Let us know what you think by selecting "submit a request" above or write to us at email@example.com
Stay tuned for more updates in the future!
